Gresik, 4 November 2026 — PT Global Internet Solusindo (GISNET), network AS149697, has officially been accepted as a participant in MANRS (Mutually Agreed Norms for Routing Security), a global initiative that brings together network operators, internet service providers and infrastructure providers from many countries to improve the security of internet routing.
What is routing and why does it matter?
Every time you open a website or an app, your data travels along paths chosen by the routing system that connects networks around the world (BGP). If routing information is wrong — whether by misconfiguration or on purpose — internet traffic can be cut off, slowed down or redirected to the wrong place. MANRS exists so that every network helps keep this system healthy.
GISNET's commitments as a MANRS participant
- Filtering — making sure the routing information we receive and announce is correct.
- Anti-spoofing — preventing traffic with forged IP addresses from leaving the GISNET network.
- Coordination — keeping our network contact information up to date so other operators can reach us during an incident.
- Global validation — registering and validating our routing data in international databases (IRR and RPKI).
What it means for customers
Joining MANRS means the GISNET network is run according to international best practice. For home users, small businesses, schools and corporations alike, this supports a more stable connection that is better protected from disruptions caused by routing mistakes or abuse.
This step complements GISNET's other efforts to keep our service reliable and secure, such as 24-hour network and server monitoring and our public Looking Glass, which anyone can use to check our network routes. Other network operators can find our interconnection details on the Peering & Routing Policy page.
