When looking for internet for an office or school, you'll often hear two terms: dedicated and broadband. Both can use fiber optic, but they work differently and serve different needs. Choosing the right one saves money and avoids operational disruptions.
What is broadband internet?
Broadband internet uses a shared network. Its speed is stated as up to a certain number of Mbps, and network capacity is shared in a managed way with other customers. As a result, broadband offers fast connections at a more affordable cost.
At GISNET, broadband plans are available for homes (Home Lite, Standard, Premium) and for businesses (B2B 50–300 Mbps). All of them have no FUP, symmetrical speeds, flat pricing, and equipment provided on loan.
What is dedicated internet?
Dedicated internet provides a dedicated bandwidth allocation at a 1:1 ratio. The bandwidth you subscribe to is reserved entirely for your location and not shared with other customers. This service is designed for needs that cannot afford disruption, 24 hours a day.
GISNET Internet Dedicated comes in two options: Fiber Optic and Wireless (with a fiber backbone at the BTS side), with these features:
- A Service Level Agreement (SLA) of 99.5%
- Free 1x IPv4 /30 and 1x IPv6 /48
- Priority support 24 hours × 7 days
- Backed by a fiber network with up to 10 Gbps capacity

When to choose broadband?
- Small or medium offices with general activities: email, browsing, video meetings, cloud apps.
- Schools that need internet for administration and day-to-day learning.
- When the budget needs to be efficient, but you still want a symmetrical connection with no FUP.
When to choose dedicated?
- Operations depend entirely on the internet, for example transaction systems, servers, or VPNs between branches.
- You need a public IP for servers, remote access, or centralized CCTV.
- You need a written service guarantee (SLA) for audits or contracts.
- Schools or institutions running computer-based exams with many simultaneous users that must not be disconnected.
